Most chair failures come down to five components. I stock genuine replacements from my ISA supplier catalogue — over 130 SKUs covering every major chair type used in South African offices.

Gas Lift Replacement
The most common failure in a busy office. The pneumatic cylinder loses pressure and the chair drops mid-use. I remove the old cylinder, press in the correct replacement, and the chair holds height again. Done in under 20 minutes per chair.

Castor Replacement
Broken castors scratch floors and are a genuine trip hazard. I match the stem type (grip ring, threaded, plate) to your existing chair base and swap the full set. Hardfloor castors available if your office has tiles or wood.

Mechanism Repair
Tilt mechanisms that lock, lean uncontrollably, or lose their tension are frustrating and uncomfortable. I assess whether the mechanism needs adjustment, lubrication, or full replacement — and carry common mechanism types in my kit.

Armrest Repair
Cracked armrest pads, loose armrest frames, and height adjustment mechanisms that jam are all repairable. I carry armrest pads in standard sizes and can fabricate replacements for common chair models.

Seat Foam Replacement
A collapsed seat is an ergonomic problem — staff compensate by shifting posture, which leads to back complaints. I recut foam to the original specification and recover the seat if the fabric is still sound. If not, that falls under upholstery.

Chair Base & Frame
Cracked bases, bent or damaged aluminium star bases, and loose column connections. I carry replacement bases in standard 5-star configurations (aluminium and nylon) for most chair seat-column diameters.
